Mechanisms & Motion Studies (2011–2020)
My early mechanical works explore systems of tension, repetition, and force as a way to understand how structures behave when pushed to their limits. Working with steel, aluminum, hoses, refrigeration components, fans, tape, and industrial hardware, I treated mechanical systems as living architectures — responsive, provisional, and always on the edge of transformation.
These sculptural and installation-based studies examine how materials move, resist, and hold energy. Many works investigate conditional states: compression and release, imbalance and equilibrium, order and collapse. I approached mechanics as a form of choreography, where structural elements become actors in a staged environment of airflow, weight, vibration, and accumulated motion.
This period established the foundations of my current practice. The experiments with circulation, modular systems, and mechanical feedback became the conceptual bridge toward my later kinetic installations and bio-data driven works. These early pieces reflect my ongoing interest in how bodies, machines, and environments shape one another — revealing motion, tension, and transformation as material expressions of human experience.
